Fixing a hole…
I just filled a gap in my cultural education, and watched Psycho, one of the many films on my list of “What d’you mean you haven’t seen that?!?”
Maybe next week we’ll watch Apocalypse Now. Or something else that makes NovySan’s drop when I say “I haven’t seen that.”
Meanwhile, my friend Be the Boy posted a list awhile ago of Iconic Films He’s Never Seen (followed by lists of books he hasn’t read and band he’s chosen to ignore) – check it out, then tell me what cultural touchstone’s you’ve missed.

Bah. The only part of Apocalypse Now that is worth a damn is Robert Duvall and the helicopters. I can watch that part over and over again (and often have with my Dad… he LOVES the “Flight of the Valkyrie-Helicopters”!)
Psycho, on the other hand, is quite excellent… if you forgive the corny ending.
Oh! And I just picked up Sunset Boulevard, which, in my opinion, is one of the best classics out there. I think you’d get a big kick out of it.
And right there, you’ve just identified another big hole in my cultural education – Sunset Boulevard’s been on my list for yeeeeears. (Hell, I even used to work on Sunset, and I still haven’t seen it!)
