Thanks to a co-worker, who burned two disks full of the blasted things (and gave me a selection of Vincent Price’s “The Price of Fear” on a flash drive), I’ve been listening to CBS Radio’s Mystery Theatre. These aren’t the old radio mysteries of the 30s and 40s — this was a revival of the radio mystery, which ran from 1974-1982. Most of the MP3s are bootlegs, of course, sometimes complete with tape hiss and someone coughing in the background. Many of them have had the news and commercials edited out — but not all of them.
This is my favorite ad so far.
(Strangely, I still have no desire to read Battlefield Earth.)
