  1. Porn? On the INTERNET?!?

    September 9, 2010 by ChiaLynn

According to a representative from an adult-oriented website, whose comment on my 101st post was nearly devoured by Akismet:

Like VCR tapes and DVDs, the Internet has proved popular for distributing free porn because it allows people to view pornography without anyone knows in the privacy and comfort comfort and privacy of their own house. It is also possible to access porn by folks whose access is by other means restricted for legal or social reasons.

    I mean, seriously. Who knew?

  2. And what does “in the lifestyle” mean, exactly?

I just found a comment in my spam trap from someone whose email address has to do with used cars in Texas, and who would like me to know that he and his wife are “in the lifestyle.”

    Um… That’s nice for you?

And what lifestyle are we talking about? Something to do with cars, apparently. And Texas.

On second thought, I don’t want to know.

  3. More from the Spam File

    November 12, 2008 by ChiaLynn

As I’ve mentioned before, I like to look through the spam comments Akismet‘s caught for me before I delete them – occasionally I find a legitimate comment or pingback in there (or at least an amusing one – I love that my “Changeling” post got grabbed by an aggregator looking for celebrity stories, because it mentioned Angelina Jolie), and sometimes I find a spam comment that’s so ridiculous, I just have to share it.

Like this one (posted verbatim, but minus the links – I don’t think “KurmanAhlabm” needs any clicks today):

    “Hi there!
