It’s almost time for my next tattoo, which I think will be some version of Franz Marc’s Large Blue Horses.
It’s overdue, and I’m looking forward to it.

Gorgeous painting. Where you put it? It’s so lush, would you just take a single horse or would you put it on your back or someplace where you would have lots of room? I know that was a lot to ask but I don’t have any tattoos so I am trying to imagine. I can understand the inspiration, though. I think it would make a very special tattoo.

Those are the same questions I’m asking myself.
Probably on the back of my left hip, and as for the rest, I may just take it to my (brilliant) tattoo artist and say, “I want this, but I think it might need some modification, what would you do with it?”
When I got my first tattoo from her (photo here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/artoftheodd/803238098/), I said, “I want a phoenix, in an Art Nouveau style, but in flower colors instead of fire colors, and here are three or four pictures I like,” and she said, “Come back in two weeks and I’ll show you what I’ve come up with.” I only made one tiny change, and she picked out the colors. Karina rocks.
